The website was operating for 16 months, during which Moore stated several times that it was shielded by the same rules protecting Facebook. The FBI began analysing Moore in 2012 after obtaining proof from the mother of one of the victims. The site was shut down in April 2012 and sold to an anti-bullying group. In February 2015, Moore pleaded guilty to felony accusations of identity theft and aiding and abetting unauthorised computer entrance. In November 2015, Moore was sentenced to two years and six months in prison. He was discharged from prison in May 2017.
