On Friday, Florida rapper Rollie Bands was shot and killed outside his apartment complex. The reason behind the Florida rapper shot dead is said to be an Instagram post in which he dared his critics to confront him at his house.
“A lot of these n****s know where I live at fr,” the Florida rapper posted on his Instagram Story (Source: HipHopDX).
“I sleep in peace. If a n***a want smoke, I’m at my crib in 5 mins.”
Only five minutes after his Instagram post, at around 3.30 pm, the rapper was shot in Florida, once in the parking lot of his apartment complex in Tampa. According to the New York Post, he was immediately rushed to an area hospital but couldn’t be saved and was pronounced dead.
Rollie Bands was born in Tampa, Florida, and is best known for his songs, including Struggle, Close Ties and Reminiscing. The news of the rapper shot and killed spread like wildfire, and many people have voiced their condolences on social media and in real life.
The Tampa Rapper is survived by a young daughter, of whom he had previously shared a picture on Instagram with the caption: “The only person I live for.”
Rollie Bands’ death eerily gives off the same vibes as that of fellow rapper Pop Smoke, whose real name was Bashar Barakeh Jackson. The rapper was shot and killed at a property in the LA suburb of Hollywood Hills in February of 2020.
