While Kanan feels he has killed someone, we find that Malcolm survived the shooting and is now awake. On the other hand, Raquel intended to frame Unique for the crime because he had already been arrested.
Meanwhile, Kanan is hiding away in Maryland, but his ties to the gang in South Jamaica, New York, are vital. Raquel is no-nonsense, and after first concealing him from her drug trafficking activities, she was observed dragging him into the family business.
According to actor Mekai Curtis, the future episodes will focus on everyone’s actions having consequences and how this “moulds and forms Kanan and his mind.”
According to the official synopsis: “As the second season begins, Raquel Thomas has seized control of the city’s drug trade, but her son is disappearing. Kanan Stark returns to Queens, unsure of his future with the family business, and much more so because of Detective Howard’s lingering secret.
“While Kanan seeks the truth, Raq boldly pushes the firm into hostile mafia territory.” Lou-Lou has other ideas for his failing record business, but Raq isn’t ready to let his side hustle stand in the way of her growth.
“Although Marvin remains Raq’s devoted soldier, he fights to win Jukebox’s forgiveness and become the father he never had.” The links that unite this family are fraying, but Raq would go to any length to keep them together.”
