Hong Kong officers reported Friday that they would launch an inquiry into a concert accident in which a giant screen fell onto a stage and injured two dancers.

Video clips from Cantopop group Mirror’s show on Thursday night show a vast LED screen broke above the stage, hurtling down, directly hitting one dancer before toppling onto another as audience members yell in horror.

The injured performers were both sent to hospital, with one of the dancers said to be in a “serious condition”.

According to a government report, Hong Kong leader John Lee said that authorities would “fully investigate the situation” and review security requirements for future performances.

He also said the administration would help home members of one of the wounded dancers travel from Canada to Hong Kong to see him.

Organizer Maker Ville said in a report that it was “extremely depressed” by the damages to the two performers and that it would collaborate with authorities in the investigation.

“If we find anything suspicious or any individual or unit is involved in mischief, we will directly report it to the police,” the statement said.

Authorities also revealed their first results after an inspection of the show’s venue – the Hong Kong Coliseum – on Friday. Thursday’s concert was the fourth of 12 planned Mirror concerts, for which tens of thousands of fans purchased tickets.

Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Kevin Yeung told journalists on Friday that the government was “very concerned” about the happening and that analysis would likely take several weeks.

“We will study to see if the steel rope broken was due to an operational or content problem. At this stage, it cannot be concluded,” Yeung said, adding that the incident would affect “all future performances”.

Yeung said that authorities would also try to determine if any security improvements are needed at other venues for upcoming performances to minimize the chance of such an incident happening again.

Officers from the Department of Labour have collected evidence from the scene and will work to determine who is responsible for the incident, Labour and Social Affairs Minister Chris said.

He said all movement under the remaining broken screens at the site would be halted, and organizers would work with government officials to determine how best to remove the broken screens safely.
