CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —— A new piece of technology has been installed in the Ingleside Independent School District that, according to the district, has the ability to kill viruses and bacteria in as little as eleven minutes.
They can be used anywhere, from classrooms to cafeterias, with the two R-Zero Arc UV lights. The school district has taken an additional step to ensure the safety of its students.
We are always looking for better ways to safeguard our students, “said Superintendent Troy Mircovich.
It’s been a few weeks since the grant was awarded, but the district is already seeing the benefits of using the new devices.
He added, “It can clean rooms as large as 1,000 square feet within a 24-foot radius.” Director of Maintenance Abram Garcia agreed.
Because it contains no chemicals, the device can quickly clean a classroom, and no residue or strong smell will be left behind when students return.
The district’s two elementary schools were equipped with the devices as of Thursday afternoon.
After seeing how well it works, Mircovich suggested that it could be rolled out on other campuses.
