Leafy greens are sorted digitally using Key Technology’s sorters

-

Product quality and yield are both improved by using VERYX sorters in conjunction with Iso-Flo vibratory conveyors to locate and remove FM. The belt-fed sorter can inspect all sides of the product with no blind spots thanks to its top and bottom sensors. Each item in the product stream is inspected by the unit, which removes any greens that are discoloured, bruised, broken, or otherwise damaged based on their colour, size, and shape. The company’s proprietary Pixel Fusion technology can be used to combine pixel-level input from multiple cameras and laser scanners to create a unique, unambiguous “signature” for each type of substance in the product stream, making it better able to detect difficult-to-detect FM and defects.
