“Mean Girls” actress Lacey Chabert is mourning the death of her sister, Wendy.
“My beautiful sister, Wendy,” Chabert, 39, began her heartfelt tribute to her sibling — who died at the age of 46 — on Instagram Tuesday.
“Our hearts are shattered into a million pieces that I don’t know how we will ever put back together again now that you’re gone. We love and adore you more than we can ever say and we will continue to forever and ever and ever.
“The shocking loss has left us so broken-hearted,” she continued. “Our lives will never be the same without my dear sister, but we cling to the promises of Jesus that we will be together again in eternity. Please keep our family, especially her two boys, in your hearts and prayers. Thank you so much💔.”
The details of Wendy’s death were not released.
Several of Chabert’s celebrity pals stormed her comment section with well-wishes, with Tamera Mowry-Housely offering, “Oh dear Lacey! I’m so so sorry!!!!!!! Praying for you, Wendy’s family and your family! 💔🙏🏽.”
Candace Cameron Bure also offered her condolences, writing, “Lacy, we are praying for you, your family and Wendy’s family 🙏🏻. We love you, always here for you my sweet sweet friend ❤️.”
Journalist Lisa Ling also offered words of comfort, commenting, “Dearest Lacey, I am so so sorry for your loss. Holding you and your family in my heart and prayers.”
“Oh, Lacey. I am so incredibly sorry – I don’t even know what to say. Praying for your family and sweet Wendy. ❤️,” actress Marla Sokoloff added to the string of condolences.
Back in August, Chabert shared a childhood photo with Wendy and her other older sister, Crissy, for National Sisters Day.
“Couldn’t let #nationalsistersday pass without saying how much I love my two sisters,” she captioned the family photo at the time. “They are the best big sisters ever and I thank God for them every day. Love you Wendy and Crissy ❤️.”
