Jennifer Garner Shared Her Advice on Receiving Cosmetic Procedures: Jennifer Garner shares her thoughts on beauty treatments — and gives some insider tips about something few people talk about.
During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the actress told the magazine about the beauty she will hand to her daughters Violet and Seraphine, whom she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck.
“My beauty suggestion is always the same: look less in the mirror, sit less and look at the world to see what you could be doing with your time instead,” she said.
“We’re obsessed with our faces more than individuals used to, and it’s not doing you any good. You’re obsessed with changing or fixing something on your face.”
She also added some procedures for receiving injections, such as filler and botox. ” look less in the mirror and be careful about injecting anything into your face,” she continued.
“Be seriously considered and wait as long as possible to add something. Don’t think you’re 37 and need to shoot yourself in the face. You don’t need to wear anything or have a regular breakout.”
In an interview with Real Simple, Garner talked about getting Botox and said she wasn’t a fan. Instead, her tip for great skin and hair is clear and pretty foolproof. “
My hair philosophy is the same as how I approach makeup: ” If you take care of your skin, hair, and body, you should feel good without adding anything major,” she said.
“As I get older, I probably need more mascara or a little help at the roots, but I don’t need to because I know my skin and hair are as strong as ever.”
The star has explained this mindset in many other discussions, and it’s one her mother passed down. “She said that as you get older, the lure is to stare in the mirror and focus on what’s changing, and here’s the secret: Don’t look!” she told Glamor last year.
“Just don’t worry, be thankful you’re getting older and use the time you have to leave the world a little better instead of looking at yourself in the mirror and worrying.”
Of course, Garner understands that’s easier said than done, and on days when those feelings are hard to shake, she suggests channelling them into self-care.
“Turn around, turn around in that place and go do something nice for someone else,” she told Today in December. “Either exercise or just take it and start it instead of letting it rot inside you.”

This advice is important amid the ongoing Botox boom, which can be attributed mainly to the hours of Zoom-focused meetings over the past two years, according to a recent study in the International Journal of Women’s Dermatology.
And while a medical spa trip may seem like a short fix to any insecurity, Garner knows it can be a tricky slope, so she’s determined in her scepticism.
“We’re all looking at our faces more than people used to, and it’s not good for you.” You obsess over changes or fixing something on your face,” she explained.
“Be confident and wait as long as possible to add something. Don’t think you’re 37 and need to shoot yourself in the face. You don’t have to wear much makeup or be in such a steady rush.”
