The show follows three suburban Michigan mothers, two of whom are sisters struggling to make ends meet. Retta has revealed why Good Girls was cancelled. The 52-year-old comedian told why the NBC series would not return for a fifth season during a recent episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan.
“We were very close to having a fifth season, but one person ruined it for the entire cast and crew, so it’s not coming back,” she explained.
Kelly Ripa inquired as to why one person couldn’t be replaced, to which Retta responded, “It was a little too far to when they would have to start and figure out the story.”

Christina Hendricks stars as Elizabeth “Beth” Boland, a housewife and mother of four whose car salesman husband of 20 years cheated on her.
Retta plays Beth’s best friend, Ruby Hill, a waitress struggling to pay for her daughter Sara’s kidney disease and medical treatments.
Mae Whitman portrays Annie Marks, Beth’s younger sister and Ben’s mother.
Stanley Hill, Ruby’s mall cop-turned-actual-cop husband, is played by Reno Wilson.
Manny Montana plays Christopher, alias Rio, a high-ranking criminal with a money-laundering operation.
