Domestic Girlfriend follows the narrative of Natsuo Fujii, a high school student trying to move on from his feelings for his instructor. Things change for him when he meets a weird girl named Rui Tachibana. He sleeps with Rui because he misses his teacher. The following day, his father tells him he will marry his fiancée. Tsukiko Tachibana, the mother of the teacher he adores, enters. But the problem does not stop there. Two girls enter the room with the woman. One of them is Rui and Hina themselves.

The first season followed Natsuo as he attempted to balance his equations with each of these women. In the concluding episode, “I’m Sorry.” “I Love You,” Hina says as she walks out of school when the administrator learns about her secret romance.
