If successful, Amentum will work with the Homeland Security Department’s science and technology directorate on a possible five-year, $260 million task order on PR.

Amentum has been tasked by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to conduct research, development, testing, and evaluation of counter-UAS systems and technologies for border and critical infrastructure site security.

The Air Force’s 774th Enterprise Sourcing Squadron won the contract on behalf of DHS through the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center’s multiple-award contract vehicle known as DOD IAC, Amentum said on Tuesday.

“Amentum is ready to partner with the Department of Homeland Security and provide our unmanned systems expertise to help develop solutions that protect our national security,” said Jill Bruning, president of Amentum’s business unit called IS4 (intelligence, system engineering, security, services, and solutions).

In the government’s research and development and science and technology communities, the IAC and that vehicle are used to gain new knowledge and improve the Defense Technical Information Center’s repository.

The Germantown, Maryland-based company Its unmanned systems support portfolio includes two Air Force programs that include operations and maintenance of the equipment, as well as cybersecurity services for the systems and networks.

Amentum, AECOM’s government services business, was awarded a $961 million contract in March 2018 when it was known as Amentum. Predator, Reaper, and Global Hawk unmanned aerial systems (UAS) are all included in this program’s scope.
